The Asbury Eagles Club #4458 would like to thank Mike Brannon of Brannon Monument Company for donating the inscribed stone that is located between the three new flagpoles in the front of the club.


We would also like to thank everyone who helped install the flagpoles:  Pat Ready, Steve Ready, Tom Ready, Tim Lawler, Tom Avenarius, Ron Healey, Brad Kruse, Mike Davis, Eric Davis, and Jim Willging. Thanks also to everyone who helped work on the patio:  Jim Steil, Ray Backes, Scott Neyens, Jay Imhoff, Ted George, Tim Treadway, and Brad Kruse.  


Awards Given


Brad Kruse, Cheryl Neyens, and Scott Neyens were awarded with plaques for their years of service for being bar managers and bartender manager at the Eagles club on Saturday, March 7th.  Everyone appreciates all the hard work the three of you did for the Asbury Eagles Club.  If you see them at the club, please remember to thank them for all the time and effort they gave to help the Eagles Club grow!
 

Donations Made by Eagles Club


The Eagles Club donated $429 to the Asbury K-9 Program. The Eagles Club donated $830 to Opening Doors.


The Eagles Club donated $445.00 to Stonehill for the Alzheimer's Association. The Eagles Club donated $2222.00 to Doug Bahl for medical expenses.


The Eagles Club donated $3700 to Jane Avenarius for medical expenses.







 

The Asbury Eagles Club donated $500 to Jaron Sommer's Eagle Scout Project.  Jaron is working on his Eagle Scout Project, which is a memorial to Tyler Houtakker, son of Asbury residents Brian & Tammi Houtakker, who drowned 2 years ago.  The memorial will be at Maple Hills Park and will consist of a tree, a memorial stone, and bench within a border of wood chips.





Asbury Fire Department Dubuque County Sherrif's Department

The Eagles Club recently donated $2500 to Finley Hospital for continuing education for kidney disease, Asbury Fire Department received $1000 and the Dubuque County Sheriff's Department received $1000 for their DARE Program.  All of these donations were made possible through grants received from the State and Grand Aeries.

The Eagles Club recently donated $138 to the Veteran's Transit Program and $748 to the Veteran's Memorial Wall. 



The Eagles Club recently donated $900 to the Asbury K-9 Program with proceeds from a burger night.


Donation to Asbury Fire Department

The Asbury Fire Department received $2500 to purchase equipment for spinal cord injury patients through a grant from the Eagles Club.

Scholarships Awarded

                 
Congratulations to the recipients of this year's Eagles Club Scholarships.  Scholarship money was awarded to two Wahlert seniors.  They were Michael Mockler who will be attending St. Mary's University of Minnesota and Alex Boll, who will be attending the University of Notre Dame.  Each student received a $250 scholarship.

It has been a busy couple of months at the club with many events being held for various local charities.  Donations were made to the following places with proceeds from Burger Nights, Breakfasts, and Pasta Lunches.  The Asbury Police Department received $250,  Stonehill Care Center received $900,  Dubuque Rescue Mission received $700, Heartland EMS received $270, Dubuque Senior Men's Swim Team received $1500, and $600 was donated to the Eagles Disaster Team.

Donation to Disabled American Veterans 
We Care Program

The Eagles club donated $800 to the Disabled American Veterans.  This donation helped fund the We Care program, which allows them to provide needed items for area veterans and families.  The Eagles Club also received a plaque from the Disabled American Veterans thanking them for their contributions to the We Care program.
